While the United States has just withdrawn from Afghanistan - which France left nine years ago -, abandoning power to the Taliban, President Macron has just announced the start of France's (at least partial) withdrawal from Mali. The documentary by Coraline Salvoch and Alain Pirot examines twenty years of commitments, half-hearted victories, of veiled defeats, of bereavements… In front of their cameras, generals, chiefs of staff, soldiers, several defense ministers and a President of the Republic recount behind the scenes of a literally endless war.
